Carrying Community Forward: Lessons from Jeremy Lin’s Journey
Such a great message for our community, that which supports the values that we uphold and gives us a chance to see that it does work in our modern western landscape. And more, the core message of helping those in need, which again takes us outside of ourselves for what we also need - not just to give back, but to be a part of positive work in bold and expressive ways.
Jeremy Lin we have seen up close at basketball games. We've seen every minute of his NBA play. Recalling those minutes, we know what he can do with the ball and his style, which is to make everyone around him better while uplifting the team mission. How wonderful it will be to watch him take that spirit to the open world, when he finishes professional basketball. I can't wait, and the fun part is, we can all be on his team in his next phase, because his steps ahead are unlimited for the good, as are ours. Thank you to all organizing hosts, especially to Chris Loh and Soon Yu, for a different message that is important too.
And to Jeremy, even Steph Curry misses 57% of his 3s. Life is about taking shots and not forcing perfection. Yet he and you both never miss as humans, to provide kindness, empathy, growth and courage for us all to emulate.
